Vincente Saez was nabbed after the squad received intel that he was on his way to Bridgeport to pick up drugs which he would then resell in Stamford, said Capt. Richard Conklin.
Officers performed a background check on Saez and found he had nine arrests from 1981 to 1993, mostly for drug sales and weapons violations, Conklin said.
Saez, driving a newer white Nisan Rogue, was spotted about 9:15 p.m., pass Exit 9 heading west on I-95. Squad members followed him to where he got off at Exit 6 and stopped Saez on West Avenue, Conklin said.
During a search, officers found the cocaine in his groin area, Conklin said. A search of his home on Montauk Drive and uncovered plastic bags, razor blades and $38,000 in cash, Conklin said.
Conklin said the department will work to seize the money through the asset forfeiture laws.
